ConnectiCare Names Sam Caligiuri New Senior Vice President & General Counsel
FARMINGTON, CT (May 10, 2016) – ConnectiCare, one of Connecticut’s leading health plans, is happy to announce the appointment of its new Senior Vice President and General Counsel, Sam Caligiuri, Esq. Mr. Caligiuri will lead ConnectiCare’s legal and government relations departments, with responsibility for all legal and regulatory matters.

Prior to joining ConnectiCare, Mr. Caligiuri was a partner at Day Pitney, LLP, where he chaired the Firm’s Insurance Regulation and Transactions practice. He also served as deputy legal counsel in the office of the governor from 1995 to 1997 and as a state senator from 2007 to 2011. His legislative work included service as the ranking member on the General Assembly’s Insurance and Real Estate Committee and as a member of the Regulations Review Committee. Mr. Caligiuri has represented clients across the insurance industry in various regulatory and transactional matters. He is also a former adjunct professor at the University of Connecticut School of Law.
He received a B.A. from Boston College, a master's degree from Yale University, and a Juris Doctor degree from Catholic University of America School of Law.
